How to Use Leafy’s Ability Controls

Objects of Terror controls get easier once you understand Leafy’s ability switch: during Knife Toss, ability two becomes Cancel. Learning that switch helps you end a volley without committing to every knife. Separate the ability that readies your knives from the input that actually throws them.

Throw a knife while Knife Toss is activeM1 on mouse or right trigger on controller
Aim a knife on mousePoint your cursor toward the target
Cancel Knife TossAbility two while Knife Toss is active

Activating Knife Toss and throwing a knife are separate actions. Once the ability is active, use the throw input for each knife, up to three. Leafy is forced to walk during the ability, so cancel after your intended volley instead of staying in the throwing stance.

For character instructions, open Info → Guide, then select a character. Use that menu when switching Contestants or Co-Hosts; Leafy’s contextual inputs belong to her kit.

The game is in beta, and abilities can change between updates.

Knife Toss: When to Throw One, Two, or Three

Leafy’s knives stun the Co-Host, and landing a stun interrupts abilities they are using. Each successive knife adds a shorter stun: the first lasts 1.25 seconds. Throwing more knives before canceling also increases the cooldown, with airborne throws being an exception.

Objects of Terror — Knife Toss: When to Throw One, Two, or Three

Choose your volley around what you need to accomplish:

  • One knife: Interrupt an important enemy ability, such as Announcer’s run or MePhoneX’s charge or laser.
  • Two knives: Create breathing room during your own chase.
  • Three knives: Extend the stun when a teammate needs time to escape.

If you panic during a chase, aim for two throws, then cancel. That gives you a straightforward sequence to practice without automatically spending the full volley.

Use Height to Line Up Your Throws

Throwing a knife in midair gives Leafy a short upward hop. Chaining airborne throws lets her gain substantial height and reach elevated terrain.

Use those hops to climb, then aim down toward the Co-Host. Higher ground can make lining up a throw easier. Choose between spending throws on movement and keeping them for a stun.

Blue Skidaddle: Teleport Timing and Cancels

Blue Skidaddle has a long windup before teleporting Leafy to the spot farthest from any Co-Host. Its main risk is the charge: taking a hit during the windup deals 50% more damage and immediately cancels the teleport.

Create distance or land a stun before starting it. Avoid beginning the charge within easy striking distance.

The ability also suspends Leafy in midair during its windup. Jumping into a pit and activating it before falling farther can put you out of reach while the teleport charges. Watch for Announcer’s bugs before attempting this escape; they can still interrupt you.

Canceling Blue Skidaddle gives Leafy a small hop and a short cooldown. Jump after starting the ability, then cancel to use that extra hop for mobility.

Leafy’s Movement Basics

Leafy is a one-star Contestant with 25 run speed and 10 jump height. Her Lofty passive increases her jump height and walking speed while she is not running.

Use elevated routes to take advantage of that mobility, especially when positioning to help a teammate with Knife Toss. Keep your escape route in mind before dropping down to attempt a stun.

If Announcer catches you in his obstacle course, use Leafy’s extra jump height to navigate the platforms. Avoid the run when possible, but take advantage of her jumping ability when you have to complete the course.
