Is Objects of Terror Available to Play?

If you're looking for the Objects of Terror release date, you can already jump into its public beta on Roblox. That means you can start playing its object-show horror matches while development continues. The current build carries the [BETA] label, and future updates are set to expand its features and core gameplay loop.

The Roblox experience was created on December 18, 2025. Keep that creation milestone separate from the game's public launch timing: an experience's creation date records when the project began on Roblox.

To enter the current build, open the Objects of Terror public beta on Roblox.

Supported Devices and Match Size

Objects of Terror supports PC, mobile, and console. Its asymmetrical horror format pits one powerful Co-Host against seven Contestants, with a maximum of eight players per server.

Contestants draw from object shows such as Battle for Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity. Co-Hosts take the opposing role, hunting down the Contestants across distorted versions of familiar locations.

Free private servers include a panel for testing mechanics and changing how you play with friends. In BETA 1.0.1, private servers have a player requirement like normal servers, but the panel lets you disable it. Use that option when exploring mechanics with a smaller group.

What the Public Beta Includes

The public beta introduces three Co-Hosts with distinct playstyles:

Objects of Terror — What the Public Beta Includes

The Contestant roster includes Blocky, Dr Fizz, Leafy, Teardrop, Candle, Test Tube, Lightbulb, Golf Ball, and Snowball. Their roles cover trapping, stunning, support, defense, and survival.

Character difficulty spans one to five stars. Announcer has one star, MePhoneX has three, and Evil Leafy has five. Read the in-game character guides before choosing a role; the info menu covers both individual characters and basic mechanics.

Five maps form the public beta's location lineup:

Matches include eight types of items scattered around each map and Recovery Centers that revive dead Contestants. When only one Contestant remains, Last Object Standing activates and buffs that survivor. Character-specific music also accompanies this phase, although the public beta release build leaves Candle, Leafy, Lightbulb, and Snowball without their own themes.

Beyond matches, the beta includes a ranking system, Contestant objectives, and a shop for characters and cosmetics.

What BETA 1.0.1 Changes

BETA 1.0.1 follows the public beta release with combat adjustments, character changes, and interface fixes. Several changes directly affect how returning players should approach a match:

  • Announcer's Slice deals less damage: damage drops from 30 to 27.5, while its cooldown increases to 3 seconds.
  • Announcer's RUN has clearer aiming: its windup forces shiftlock to telegraph its direction, and the attack has limited turn control. Blocking negates the base damage while leaving the poison damage.
  • MePhoneX's MeTech consumes more meter: this prevents unlimited flight outside MeCloak.
  • Teardrop's Roll has a longer cooldown: the standard cooldown increases, with a shorter 10-second cooldown when resisting an attack.

Watch Announcer's direction during attack windups to help anticipate its path. When playing Teardrop, account for the longer gap between Rolls before committing to a chase route.

The patch also addresses overlapping mobile interface elements, accidental ability activation while moving the camera, mobile shiftlock aiming, and controller menu navigation. These changes make device support a meaningful part of the beta's ongoing development alongside combat balance.
